In true aircraft builders spirit, it is my goal to complete as much of the build process myself. This Sunday that included a few more top coats to deepen this rich color. Generally speaking red does not cover well and therefore needs several coats especially if there is bodywork exposed underneath. It is best to use a very dark-black primer under red. My finish work was a bit mixed in terms of color, so I am paying for that with a few extra coats of paint in certain areas. All in all it is showing well for a backyard job.
